How to make 📃 Paper in Infinite Craft
Step-by-step recipe, cheapest path first — everything below is crafted from the four starting elements.
How to make 📃 Paper — step by step
The cheapest known path. Craft each step in order — every ingredient is either a basic element or something you make earlier in this list.
- Earth + Wind = DustBoth Earth and Wind come straight from your starting elements — craft Dust first, everything else in this chain depends on it.
- Earth + Water = PlantPlant is a stepping stone — keep it in your inventory, later steps build directly on it.
- Earth + Plant = TreeIf you already made Tree in an earlier session you can skip this one and move on.
- Dust + Tree = WoodOne quick craft for Wood: drag Dust onto Tree and keep the result for the chain.
- Water + Wood = PaperFinal craft: combine Water and Wood to make Paper. That's the whole path — 5 crafts total.

Why this is the cheapest path to Paper
We rank every known recipe for Paper by total crafts from the four starting elements, not just by the final combination. The two direct ingredients — Water and Wood — cost 1 and 5 crafts to build from scratch, which is why the whole chain above needs only 5 crafts. The alternatives in the table below are ranked the same way: their "approx. cost" is the pricier ingredient plus one, so you can see at a glance which route actually saves you crafts — and which ones quietly waste five.
Alternative combinations for Paper
| Combination | Approx. cost |
|---|---|
| River + Tree | 5 crafts |
| Tree + Windmill | 5 crafts |
| Forest + Windmill | 5 crafts |
| Kiln + Tree | 6 crafts |
| Kite + Stone | 6 crafts |
Any valid combo works — pick the ingredients you already have.

Tips for crafting Paper
- Craft in one sitting. The 5-craft chain for Paper takes under two minutes once you know the route — the list above is already in dependency order, so just go top to bottom.
- Reuse your inventory. If you've played before you probably own the early intermediates (like Plant) already — skip straight to the first step you can't do.
- Missing an ingredient? Check the alternatives table — e.g. River + Tree also produces Paper if that route fits your inventory better.
